I'm in awe.

I so wish I had time to write a full review, but sadly I cannot. THis song was one of the most beautiful I have everheard on the NG Audio portal. Words cannot describe how much I love this song. It's emotional, it's exciting, it is a masterpiece. I know im usually overly generous in all of my reviews, but this song so unbelievably deserves it. It...was...beautiful. All I can think of when I hear this song is a group of soldiers waiting as from over the distance unstopable hordes of enemies come rushing in. The soldiers make their final prayers and wait. As the enemies appear and surround the soldiers, they refuse the plea to lay down their arms or be stricken down. THe waves of soldiers desend upon them, and with yells of fury and tears of sadness, the soldiers slash through every enemy coming their way. They fight through wounds almost as if they can't feel it. Finally one by one they are stricken down until none remain.

MaestroRage responds:

Being wiped out in a stand of defiance. Time tested, glorious theme. Having decided the life they held would not be theirs at the end of this day the soldiers there seemed ready to wreck the vessels that carried them until this day into absolute destruction. Let them have the mangled, broken shells of men, for they would have their weapons embedded deep within enemies before eternal sleep took them.

Well written, thank you for the review, i'm glad you liked it!

What an amazing piece of Music!

Hey there Maestro. It's been a while since I reviewed one of your songs, but there couldn't be a more perfect song to start reviewing again with than this. I am in love with this song. You have truly outdone yourself with this song. Its epic, its emotional, its deep. Its everything you could possibly want from a classical song. Its the energy and the beat at sections and has the emotion and delicacy at others, making this song a perfect blend of music. This song truly tells a story within itself. Closing my eyes and listening to this song brings such beautiful images and scenes to my head, its absolutely amazing. The song itself is of amazing quality. THe angry choral notes seem overly aggressive and couuld be replaced with more bass of anothertype. Other than that, this song is perfect. It's melody changes throughout the song keeping it fresh and exciting. The before stated balance flows smoothlyand creates a wonderful atmosphere. The energetic drums in the middle add such intensity and excitement. The soft choral vocals add depth and emotion. The pipe melody is slightly exotic and riveting and is pulled of extremely well. THe brass as always adds the perfect amount of background depth and intensity. The strings sound wonderful and are played out musically brilliantly. THe ending is incredible great, soft and warm, yet with a slight air of melancholy. Just perfect. THe middle action sounds like it could go extremely well with modern instruments such asa drumset and more electrical sounds possibly in a remix. I wish I had the time to write more, but I must leave friend. Please continue to make music of this degree of brilliance, for it is this that inspires me on a daily basis. Your music inspires me to write, and I now know it is what one to do for a living. Your music has inspired me to choose this life. THank you.

MaestroRage responds:

hello slayer. I apologize for missing this review.

I am glad you felt that this song was to your liking. It is one of my new fav's also. The image that was inspired by it, is so great, so powerful... so... well I can't describe it with words, which is why this song exists.

The aggressive choral voices, are meant to be a tad loud, I apologize if you found them too loud, it was a difficult line to measure.

I am thankful you were able to find the time to drop by. I hope you will be able to listen again sometime, it is always a pleasure to read from you. Thank you for the review, once again I am glad you liked it, and once again, I apologize for the lateness of this response.

Best of your Works

I am not one of many words so I will sum this up quickly and as honestly as possibile. This song was simply beautiful. Also was the most professional sounding song I have heard from you, sounding almost ripped from some great movie. It was a very nice length and your choice of instruments and implementation of them was simply excellent. The epic feeling that came from this song was uniquely powerful. Amazing song, bud. You could definitly make a living composing if you started searching for publishing companies and got someone to sponsor you until one day you meet up with some movie producers and boom, your career skyrockets. Its very possible for someone as skilled as you.

MaestroRage responds:

I am glad you felt this way slayer. It is a very important piece to me in the context that i've learned several new tricks and methods to manipulate the music through Fruity Studio's. Before Fruity Studio was merely the host for me to put notes in and play, but now, I am much more aware of the power that Fruity can add to the music.

I have a very long road ahead of me slayer, I may never reach it, but if I do, I do not intend to make money off the pieces I make for myself, and therefore for anybody who would want to listen to it.

I appreciate the compliment, it keeps the drive strong, and my head focused. Thank you for the review, i'm glad you liked it!

Amazing

Absolutely amazing, but not perfect. It might just be me, but I have a very small complaint, im just trying to help you out.

Intro: Beautiful but for one thing, the vocals seemed somewhat un-needed and out of place at some places, and the vocalized notes seemed to varient for me. I dont know. But this is in the very beginning. Overall 90% (dont get mad, I'm just being honest)

Melody: Perfectly beautiful. The vocals were great, clear, and just added perfectly to this section. There was very little synth sound side-effects and it was all very clear and realistic. Overall this section would get a 100%

Ending: Very good fadeout and decrescendo, a very pleasent ending that seemed to blend perfectly with the rest of the song. The song felt a little incomplete though (obviously because its cut down). Overall this section would get 98%

Clarity: Perfect 100%

Diversity: Not much to really broaden with, Excellent 100%

Effort: Would you expect anything less? I dont think so! 100%

Originality: Great blend of vocals unlike anything i've ever heard, overall, great. 100%

Overall: 99%

MaestroRage responds:

Please, I respect your honesty, along with anybody elses ^^. Don't be afraid to speak your mind, i'm open to all angles.

It did feel a bit incomplete didn't it? I suppose I should have found another segment to flesh out and submit as a demo.

Oh well, I suppose when it's done i'll upload the full thing!

Thanks for the review ^^, means a good deal to me.

Amazing

I loved it. Extremely well done piece, very upbeat and energetic, yet strong and epic. Gets the point across very well.

Pros: Very Upbeat
Great Chorus
Amazing instruments, especially drums
Great Melody
Great Epic feeling
Pretty diverse

Cons: Its too good.
None

MaestroRage responds:

It's too good eh... I better start putting in that random mother board bleeps i've been hearing in my sleep... nothing like a good BLEA;LSEIRJSDARRGAGAGAGAH sound when you're enjoying a track to make you want to kill small furry animals :D.

Anyways, i'm glad you enjoyed it ^^. Stay tuned for more soon.

He's Back!

Hey, youre back. I like your new songs. THey have a different style than before, though they are just as good. I hope your new songs are as good as the old ones. The Guitar and bass are very good and the intro is quite good. The melody is elegant and smooth. Overall a very good song, with a majestic orcheastreal feel.

MaestroRage responds:

My style has changed a fair deal, as I learn to mold more and more complex songs, and learn more theory, my style changes slightly... and in all honesty this was the fear that had held me a few weeks ago. With more knowledge, I am losing an older sense of who I was. So in essense, MaestroSorrow truly did die... oh well. I guess no point in worrying about it. I'll write him a requiem and we'll all get on with our lives ^^.

Thanks for the review slayer456.

Amazing....

Maestro....As long as I have known you, i have known that you are hard working, extremely talented, patient, and have very good grammer, but the latter comment doesnt matter. Im sure these qualities will definitly help you reach great things. I will always be here for you, always. Just as the wisemen once said "Yet the things in life must end, they will never be forgotten."

Anyways, now with your song. After hearing every single (well most) one of your WIPs and newer songs, I must admit that this is my favorite song by you. The bass is grand, the strings are a perfect medley, and the melody is just so damn good. This piece is a great creation, illustrating your solemn, humble, and sad farewell. THe song is a very good length. It is not just the same melody repeated over and over, it's diverse and grand. The instruments themselves sound great. I can tell you have put hours of work into this.

So long and best of all, good luck!

MaestroSorrow responds:

thank you slayer456, this was my most diverse piece to date, but the bar is set so that it can be broken no? I will aim to outdo this piece, and when the time comes I am confident I can.

For now, this will have to do as a goodbye. I also didn't want it to be sad, I don't think it should be sad, Everybody should rejoice knowing that things move on, change occurs, somebody new will take my place, and present new and exciting songs, and in the end, everybody will learn from that person in turn.

I don't like to think I left, I like to think I stepped down.

Thanks for the review slayer456, means a good deal to me.

One of your best works....ever

MaestroSorrow,
As long as I have known you I have never heard anything quite as unique and skilled as this song. I agree, if I was Dan, would be very proud that my friend made such an amazing song just for me. This is a refreshing style of music that I honestly haven't heard from you yet. It's pretty diverse, but repeats a tiny bit. Clarity, I don't really care or even know what clarity exactly means but its good too. Your effort has always been, and always will be tremendous. You put all your strength and heart into your songs. That is why I AM going to get you connections with some orchestras who will be willing to test and critisize your masterpieces. That will be my next goal for you. Anyways, extremely great song.

Sincerely,
slayer456

MaestroSorrow responds:

Thank you slayer456, the extended version (full version) for Dan is more diverse, and there is much less repetition. If he allows it, I will show the rest of Newgrounds as well.

I guess the saying is true, the best things come from the darkest places.

Thanks for your effort and review, means a good deal to me man.

Awesome

Extremely well done, Maestrow and MilkMan_Dan. The voice was a very nice touch to it, it added a serene, trance-like feel. The piano was amazing. The chords almost always sounded in place and correct. The solo was extremely good. The strings were also extremely well done. The nature effects added to the whole feeling very well.

The melody was extremely good. It was serene and tranquil. It was soft and gave you the feeling of being peaceful in a secluded monk monastary or park or something. The violin sounds were very well suited. The chords chosen were very well suited also. I have no complaints about this one.

P.S. Sorry about telling you this all over gain XD. I know I heard it once already but so what, I gotta say it again.

MaestroSorrow responds:

pffft, I don't mind, many thanks for all the words slayer, they mean a lot to me.

Peace out ^^.

Wow!

Yes, Maestrow, You have outdone yourself again. This piece is absolutly brilliant. Just purely amazing. The medley of instruments are a really quite good. The oboe is very well suited for this mellow, soft piece. The flute also gives it a soft, sad feel. The song is more diverse than I thought. The very light piano in the backround was very good. The violins were also extremely well played and placed. The song gathers a light momentum and plays it out unbelievably well. I think this is one of your best pieces. Its too bad for everyone else that I got to heard some special pieces you made without posting them.

P.S. Was this a song for my game? If it was, can you wait to post the other songs until the game is done?

MaestroSorrow responds:

don't worry, the full versions for your game will not be here, this was more of a diverse piece and the version for your game will be more united, less moving around. Glad you liked it though ^^.
